About this journey
A study in color — a short note on what you can expect.
Nine days through one of the last great textile cultures — indigo dyers, mezcal makers, and the ruins of Monte Albán at a slow pace.
We've been running this trip since 2017. We know the weather, the handful of private homes that will hold a last-minute reservation, and the small change in the itinerary that makes all the difference. Every version runs differently — we design it around you.
Highlights — a short list
What you'll remember.
Private weaving lesson in Teotitlán del Valle
Sunrise at Monte Albán, alone on the terrace
A day with a master mezcal maker outside the city
Long lunch at a courtyard kitchen in the old town
The itinerary — a draft
Your days, roughly.
We treat this as a starting point — everything is rearranged around weather, your pace, and the things we find along the way.
Day 01 — 02
Oaxaca City
A townhouse in the Centro Histórico. Walks at dusk. A cooking lesson with a chef that was once Netflix-famous.
Day 03 — 04
Teotitlán & Mitla
Private studio visits with two weaving families. A slow lunch under trees. Ruins at Mitla with a quiet guide.
Day 05
Mezcal in the hills
A day with a family making mezcal the way it was made three hundred years ago. You help, or you don't.
Day 06 — 07
Monte Albán & farewell
Pre-dawn to the site. Afternoon with a printmaker in the city. A last dinner at a candlelit bar.
